Ok, time for a rant. Does know 1 no (mispellings on purpoise) how to speak the English language anymore? I'll be the first to admit, I don't speak the way I write. And I use plenty of slang. But there is one error I have been seeing so often it's driving me batty. The number one grammatical error I see in today's language is in the following sentence:
"There's no real weapons, just speed bursts and the occasional on-road obstacle."
Guess what it was?
Well, let's pretend the apostrophe wasn't there. "There is no real weapons, just speed bursts...." Does that make any sense at all? I see the apostrophe s used for plural objects when it should be for singular so much it makes my head spin. At first I thought maybe it was a Southern thing, as I live in Ohio. But the above quote was taken from a writer of a gaming website in L.A. And it wasn't even spoken, but in a written article, which I would assume is proofread. Where are people learning to speak this way?
So please:
"There are no real weapons, just improper grammar speed bursting through your mouths to hurt the ears of us snobbish writers."
And don't even get me started on the state of message boards or the emails I get at my day job....

Fuel Cell Future
So Honda is taking the first step into the next generation of vehicles with their new fuel cell vehicle, the Honda FCX Clarity.

I'm quite excited about this since I feel this technology should have been produced enmass several years ago. It'll be interesting to see how it is integrated into the current fossil fuel godzilla machine. Unfortunately, the car will only be available in LA at first, which makes me want to move there just to be an early adopter. But I guess they have to start somewhere and since I can't afford the cost of living there I won't be getting one anytime soon.
I predict that by 2011 gas prices will be over $10.00 per gallon and that 95% of the American population will be driving fuel cell vehicles. But don't quote me on that....it may just be wishful thinking. If it does happen, whether by choice or as a result of the ever increasingly unaffordable price of gasoline, the environment will thank us.
